Defining College and Career Readiness: High school graduates who are college and career ready have the knowledge, skills, and commitment necessary to not only qualify for, but succeed in, the postsecondary pursuit(s) of their choice. More specifically, a college and career ready student has the reading, writing, mathematical, social, cognitive, communication, and problem-solving skills needed to perform in a multitude of educational and workforce programs including, but not limited to, 2- and 4-year degree programs, internships, certification and licensing programs, and vocational job trainings.
