As we move through the unit on revolutionary literature, students will be responsible for engaging with text in a variety of ways: as a class, in groups, individually, and at home. Students will be asked to highlight and annotate each text as a means of developing their ability to closely and accurately read (not only for comprehension, but for deeper meaning). Furthermore, students will be given a variety of assignments that correspond to each of the readings. The activities--which are provided below--include close and critical reading questions, an investigation of figurative language, evaluation and synthesis questions, real world application, and self-reflection on personal ideas and values.
