WELCOME!
Greetings twelfth grade students and families. On this site you will find an abundance of resources related to the work for this course. In-class activities, homework assignments, PowerPoint presentations, videos, and supplemental information have been made available to you here. Throughout the course of this school year, we will investigate the historical, social, and literary elements found in the British literary cannon. This involved reading classic novels from diverse periods of world history, and with a variety of diverse themes. We will also spend time preparing you for your post-secondary pursuits. Be it college, a technical school, or a job, it is my hope that this course will prepare you to navigate the world beyond graduation. In an effort to encourage that, we will continue to hone your critical reading and writing skills, with an emphasis on how those skills will benefit you in the next phase of your life. An overview the anchor standards guiding this class are provided below. However, for a more detailed description of the twelfth grade Common Core Standards addressed in this course, please visit the Michigan Department of Education here. |
